A steam locomotive requires inspections on all the flexible staybolts every five years.  On the NCRY tank engines, this requires removing the tanks for access to the staybolt caps.  Despite our best planning, both the #2 and #3 have their five year inspections fll in the same calendar year.

A lot of work was accomplished at Brighside today.  On the main line, the Train of Lights is lit up for first time testing and all the equipment was switched back to the shop leads at the end of the day.

Electrician extraordinaire Dan Loyola with the revamped radio wiring box for the Quincy #2.  Just need some new speakers and the enginecrew will be able to communicate better with the train crew once again.

Removing the side tanks for the 5 year flexible stay bolt cap inspection.  Johnathon standing on the boiler is asking for slack while Dave holds the tag line.  The crew on this day also consisted of Dave Burla on the crane and Charlie helping.
